How do you assess new students?
I use past papers initially to get a feel of where the student’s strengths and weaknesses are e.g. Algebra, Geometry, Number, Stats etc. Depending on time constraints I then use colour codes and a pyramid learning system which I have developed over the last few years. If time is not a concern I use the CGP books followed by a final 6 months of past papers.
