TYPICAL DAY.
No day is the same but just to give an idea of what a typical daily routine will look. This is important because it will help children to know what happen next. Our routine is loosely structured and worked around nursery/school drop offs/pick-ups.
Arrival
When the children arrive, they put their coats and shoes by the front entrance.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served, if they’ve eaten at home already, they can go and play with their friends.
School run
During school runs, we drop off the children at school.
Morning activities
During the day, there is a variety of activities such as drawing, playing games and many more. There is always lots of different equipment out for the children to play with and learn from.
Sometimes they can go out in the morning to meet up with other childminders/children for play dates and social interaction
Toddlers Stay & Play group, Local parks, libraries, children’s centres etc
Morning snack
The children usually have their morning snack every 2 hours to keep their energy up, children will be assisted to wash their hands and then prompted to eat fruit, drink milk or water as required. After snack children can carry on playing with their friends and when they’re finished, they can listen to a story and sing songs with their friends.
Lunch
Children will be assisted to warm up their food and support any child who requires help with feeding.
Nap Time
Naptime for any who require a nap, quiet time for older children.
Afternoon
After lunch the children are more than welcome to choose some of the equipment they would like to play with. They can always play inside or outside. Some of the children can get tired after lunch so they go to the sleep area which is nice and quiet so they can have a rest. They also have the opportunity to read
Afternoon snack
Around 2pm its snack time again, so the children and their friends are taking the teddies outside to have a teddy bears picnic.
Tea time
Around 4pm, the children and childminders all come together to tidy up ready for tea time. After tea they get to play some more with the equipment.
Pick up from school
End of day
At the end of the day, parents will come to collect their children while they get to know all about the child daily activities and achievements.
